There is no shortage of kids activities and events here in Orlando. One of my favorite ways to get out of the house with my toddler is at the Orlando Science Center! Not only is there so much to do, but it is the perfect activity despite the rain and heat we get here in Orlando.
The science center is great for all ages, but especially so for toddlers which is a huge plus. With one entire wing of the museum dedicated to interactive, learning based play, called Kids Town. Let’s get into all OSC has to offer!

Orange Town
Right when you walk in you’ll find Orange Grove, a true Florida experience! Kids will learn to move oranges throughout the space with interactive gears, buttons, and levers. There is an area for even the smallest learners to put the oranges on the tree. We even have a little market with large fruit, a register, and English and Spanish names for the fruit! This area is great for under one up to kids 5-6 years old that will still enjoy the fun.

Climb Time
As you make your way through a tri-color shadow light display you’ll find climb time! Best for bigger kids 4-7 years old, this is where kids can run, jump, and well, climb! They’ll learn to use their hand eye coordination, develop motor skills, and overcome fears.
Toddler Town

Making your way even further you’ll find toddler town for 0-2 year olds! Take your shoes off and let the little ones crawl, climb, and jump on the foam structures. Our littlest ones will learn to navigate with confidence while us parents can step back and watch with a careful eye. There are even some interactive elements to excite babies and toddlers alike!
Water Tables
If you have a foldable poncho for your kids this is the place to use it. With multiple water tables containing fountains, boats, pipes, and even water falling from an overhead sprinkler, this is a lot of fun for the kids and a lot of anxious parents. Don’t worry, there are waterproof smocks available to try and minimize the wet clothes!

Explore It
Build and tinker in this awesome interactive space. Great for 2 years and up, there are large blocks to build, things to climb, and more!
Just to the left of explore it are more interactive experiences in Kids Town. My toddler absolutely loves to build his track with loops and hills to roll balls down and see how fast they go! There’s a cool mosaic area where your kids creations are projected on a big screen on the wall. Kids can even interact with air, watching balls seem to float and colorful scarves fly through some intricate pipes and shoot around the room!

While the Orlando Science Center is good for ALL ages, the toddler friendly atmosphere makes it a must do for our youngest explorers. Kids are encouraged to touch and interact with all the activities in Kids Town. There is so much more offered in the museum as well! Check out the first floor for some animals that make Florida home, or head upstairs to learn about the atmosphere, this earth, and all things science! There’s even an earthquake and hurricane simulator you have to try!
If you’re visiting Orlando, this is a great stop to escape the heat or rain that so often hits here. If you’re an Orlando local I really recommend getting the OSC yearly membership! It’s affordable for a family of four, and I promise you’ll be taking advantage to get out of the house. The Orlando Science Center is a win-win for everyone!
