Medellín Gourmet 2026: A Complete Guide

If you’re in Medellín right now, or planning to be here before May 3rd, you need to know about Medellín Gourmet.

Medellín Gourmet is back and this year 150 restaurants across the city, the metropolitan area, and eastern Antioquia are offering specially curated prix fixe menus for two at prices that make fine dining genuinely accessible. We’re talking appetizer, two main courses, dessert, and drinks all for a set price that, honestly, is a steal for the quality you’re getting.

My favorite way to travel is through food. So, let’s dig in?

What Is Medellín Gourmet?

Medellín Gourmet is the city’s best and biggest gastronomic festival. A month-long celebration where Medellín’s best restaurants open their doors with special multi-course menus designed for two people. You dine at the restaurant, experience their full ambiance, and enjoy a curated tasting menu at a fraction of what you’d normally pay for a comparable meal.

The event runs from April 1 through May 3, 2026. It’s organized by País Gourmet and has become one of the most anticipated culinary events in Colombia.

How it works: Each participating restaurant offers a set menu for two that includes an appetizer, two main courses, a dessert, and beverages. You choose the restaurant, make a reservation (not needed but recommended as popular spots fill up fast), and request the Medellín Gourmet menu when you arrive.

The Price Tiers

One of the best things about Medellín Gourmet is the tiered pricing. There are four price categories, all for two people with a complete meal and drinks included:

$89,000 COP (roughly $24 USD) — Don’t let the price fool you, some incredible restaurants participate at this tier and dishes are always full sized!

$119,000 COP (roughly $32 USD) — Mid-range, and the sweet spot where you’ll find a lot of fantastic options.

$159,000 COP (roughly $43 USD) — Premium tier with more elaborate menus and upscale restaurants.

$209,000 COP (roughly $57 USD) — The top tier, where you’re getting a true fine dining experience. This level includes two glasses of Viña Tarapacá Reserve wine, with the option to upgrade to a full bottle for an additional $80,000 COP. This is the only menu with wine.

The lower tiers include shared beverages like Hatsu sodas, Heineken beers, or Tostao coffee. Every tier is honestly great value for a multi-course meal for two in this city.

Restaurants We Love: Voraz

If you haven’t been to Voraz yet, Medellín Gourmet is the perfect excuse.

Voraz is in the Laureles neighborhood (with a location in Poblado) and their whole philosophy is built around fire. They call it a worship of fire, passion for the grill, and the flavor of meat, and you taste that commitment in every single dish.

Their regular menu features dishes like Pacific tuna sealed with aromatic herbs on their signature chimichurri, or ribs glazed with rum and panela (that sweet, smoky Colombian cane sugar that makes everything better). The Medellín Gourmet menu is not lacking, either. The papas cheddar appetizer was big enough to be a main dish!

The ambiance is upscale but comfortable — not the kind of place where you feel like you can’t bring your family. The service is attentive, the drinks are top-tier (ask about their cocktail menu), and the prices for what you get are more than fair. With a 4.7 Google rating and a strong reputation in the Laureles food scene, Voraz is a restaurant that locals genuinely love, not just a tourist spot.

During Medellín Gourmet, they’re offering their special menu at the $159.000 price tier. An incredible deal for one of the most solid restaurants in the city.

Restaurants We Love: Gabo

And then there’s Gabo. Ay, Gabo….

Gabo is contemporary Colombian cuisine, cocina de autor, and it’s one of those restaurants that shows you the magic of Colombia. Named after Nobel Prize winning author, Gabriel García Márquez, the entire space is infused with magical realism. The decor features books by Márquez, the cocktails are named after his works, and the food feels like it belongs in one of his stories.

Located in El Poblado (Barrio Manila), Gabo takes traditional Colombian ingredients that people sometimes overlook and transforms them into dishes that challenge every assumption you had about Colombian food. Their chicharron confiado appetizer was one of the best things I’ve eaten in Medellin and I’m not even a fan of chicharron! The contrast of sweet, acidic, and salty is perfection. The deconstructed ajiaco blew me away. Ajiaco, a traditional corn based soup, is one of my favorite Colombian dishes. I have to admit, I was a bit unsure on how this would be and ended up being one of my favorite things on the menu.

The space is warm, beautifully decorated, and it’s no wonder Gabo is ranked in the top 75 restaurants in Medellín.

They’re also participating in Medellín Gourmet 2026, which means you can experience their cocina de autor at the event’s set pricing. If you’ve been wanting to try Gabo, this is your moment.

Tips for Making the Most of Medellín Gourmet

Reserve ahead. The most popular restaurants book up quickly during the event, especially on weekends. Don’t assume you can walk in. Call ahead or book through the restaurant’s social media. We have been doing weekday lunches and have not had any issues walking in without a reservation.

Check the full restaurant list. There are 150 participating restaurants this year. Browse the full directory at medellingourmet.com to discover spots you might not have tried otherwise. You’ll find restaurants in Laureles, El Poblado, El Centro, and even surrounding municipalities.

Go more than once. With menus starting at $89,000 COP for two, this is your chance to try multiple restaurants you’ve been curious about. We hit a different spot each week without breaking the bank.

Follow @medellingourmet on Instagram. They post featured restaurants, menu previews, and they’re even raffling off dinners for two during the event. Their page is the best source for real-time updates.

Bring the family. Not every prix fixe dining experience is kid-friendly, but in Medellín? Most restaurants welcome families with open arms. The portions are meant for sharing, the courses come at a relaxed pace, and it’s a beautiful way to introduce your kids to different cuisines and dining experiences.

Why This Matters

Medellín’s food scene has exploded in the last decade. The city is home to some of the most innovative, passionate, and genuinely delicious restaurants in all of South America. An event like Medellín Gourmet makes that world accessible to everyone. You don’t need to spend a fortune to eat here. You just need to know where to go.

If you’re living in Medellín, visiting, or even just considering a trip, time it with Medellín Gourmet. It’s running from April 1st through May 3rd, and trust me, you don’t want to miss this one.
