With their premier-level annual pass $120 less than Disney’s basic pass, LEGOLAND is the best Florida theme park for families.
Florida Theme Parks

Orlando, Florida is the theme park capital of the world! No, really. It ranks up there as one of the most visited cities in the U.S. and has iconic, world-class entertainment within close distance. Orlando is so central, that you can stay and drive over to Busch Gardens, ZooTampa, or Daytona within an hour or two.
Orlando and the surrounding area is home to globally recognized theme parks such as:
- SeaWorld Orlando
- Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure – technically both part of Universal, but requires separate tickets.
- Volcano Bay – Universal’s water park
- Disney World – The most known and visited, broken up into 4 separate parks, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom (with separate tickets, of course).
- Discovery Cove
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park
- Aquatica Orlando – the newest water park
- ICON Park – okay, no real rides, but plenty of attractions and the Orlando Eye
- Fun Spot America – with two locations
- Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida
- LEGOLAND Florida – the best theme park for families! Let’s get into it!
What is LEGOLAND Florida?

Let’s face it, you have probably played with a LEGO or two in your life. Providing endless hours of creativity and imagination to flourish, LEGOs are one of our first toys, a rite of passage into childhood wonder – that for many, continues into adulthood. The love for LEGO never dies, it gets passed on to our children. That bond is exactly what you experience at a LEGOLAND theme park.
Designed for families with kids between the ages of 2-12, LEGOLAND Florida truly has something for everyone. No wondering if it’s “worth” bringing your two-year-old to a theme park. LEGOLAND Florida has zones specifically designed for younger players in Duplo Valley. Even still, there are rides around the park that younger kids can participate in. It’s not just limited to one designated area!
There are also multiple stations around the park where you can stop and play with LEGOs. Take a break inside Rebuild The World or LEGO Ferrari Build and Race to enjoy the air conditioning while your kids (and you, we listen and we don’t judge) build all sorts of LEGO creations.
On the same property of LEGOLAND Florida you also have Peppa Pig Theme Park, the first park geared towards even younger kids, a water park, and as of May 23rd, SEA LIFE is opening within LEGOLAND Florida, making it even more valuable for families to visit.

How Much Does LEGOLAND Florida Cost?
THIS is where the value is. One day, one park tickets start at $74 a person. If you were to choose a one day tickets for all parks, that is LEGOLAND Florida, the water park, Peppa Pig, AND the new SEALIFE you’re looking at $134-$149 per person. For four parks. LEGOLAND also has sales with tickets as low as $99/day.
To put it into comparison, a Disney World, one park, one day ticket for Florida residents starts at $119, the same goes for Universal. The new EPIC Universe opens May 2025, however, at the moment there is no option of an EPIC annual pass. I will update if and when that changes!
What about annual passes? Let’s break break down the top three parks, LEGOLAND Florida, Disney, and Universal to see what has the best value:
| LEGOLAND Florida | Disney World | Universal Studios |
| Basic Pass: Bronze Pass – $149 Admission only to one park, LEGOLAND, with blackout dates | Basic Pass: Pixie Dust Pass – $469 Only available to Florida residents, subject to many blackout dates and no weekends, weekdays only. | Basic Pass: 2 Park Seasonal – $425 For 6 months of the year, you can access Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure with blackout dates and no free parking. |
| Mid Tier: Silver Pass – $199 Admission to only LEGOLAND again, with free parking, and select special events and parkwide discounts. | Mid Tier: Pirate Pass – $829 Also only valid for Florida residents. Includes weekends but has holidays and peak weeks like spring break blacked out. | Mid Tier: 2 Park Preferred – $630 Free parking, but no express. If you want express, a 2 Park Premier costs $908. Access express lane after 4 PM, free parking – even valet! As well as discounts on food |
| Premium Pass: Elite Pass – $349 Access to all parks, even SEALIFE, with no blackout dates, and more! | Premium Pass: Incredi-pass – $1,549 That one hurt to type. But you have access to the 4 parks and no blackout dates. The waterpark is still and extra add on. | Premium Pass: 3 Park Premier – $1,095 Access to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay, as well as admission to special events like HHN and Mardi Gras. |
Best Value, Best Park
Hands down, LEGOLAND wins by a landslide. A family of four Elite Pass would cost roughly $1,400 and that is still $150 less than a one person top tier pass at Disney World. Look, I am not bashing the other parks. I am also a Universal Passholder, but just me, not even the kids. But, if you are a family in the Central Florida area, or travel often enough to have an annual pass, LEGOLAND Florida is the best one for you.
Even on a busy weekend, I have never faced the lines and crowds that I have at the other theme parks. LEGOLAND has done a great job of laying out the park. There are tons of areas you can just have downtime and cool off, without the pressure to have to spend money at every corner, or for every upgrade. LEGOLAND is also the only park geared towards kids 2-12, so if you have a family in that range, this park is for you.
Plus, with the opening of SEALIFE, adding an extra layer of fun, education, conservation, and air conditioning. SEALIFE is a world-class aquatic center that does a lot of conservation and rehabilitation. Including this in the price of the elite pass really drives the value up, without breaking the bank.

But Don’t Take My Word for it…
You need to experience LEGOLAND Florida for yourself. And if you’re feeling really fun, stay a night or two at the attached LEGOLAND Florida Resort Hotel! That is a bucket list stay for our family!
We absolutely love LEGOLAND Florida and have enjoyed a bunch of the events like NINJAGO Weekends, Christmas at LEGOLAND, and of course, the sneak peak of SEALIFE Florida. I’ve had so many people ask me if it is worth it, which finally inspired me to write it all down in this post.
